The airline has the distinction of offering direct non stop flights to JFK International Airport from two cities in India - Mumbai and Delhi . The Boeing 777-200LR aircrafts that are part of the recently added fleet operate on these sectors. In addition, Air India has code share agreement with numerous esteemed airlines including Luftansa, Air France, Malaysian Airlines, Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines, enabling it to expand its range of services and destinations.

Air India has one of the largest fleets with a mix of aircrafts including Boeing, Airbus, CRJ and ATR. In 2008, Air India was one of the largest purchasers in the world with a total aircraft order of 111 (68 from Boeing and 43 from Airbus).
