Kingfisher Airlines
is one of the leading private carriers in India , having its base in Bangalore . An aviation foray of United Breweries (UB) Group, the airline is owned by Vijay Mallya. With over 350 flights daily, Kingfisher Airlines provides services to around 50 domestic and international destinations. In a short span after its establishment, the airline has made a trustworthy position among passengers for its on time operations, world class in-flight services and excellent on ground service. Kingfisher Airlines in one of the six airlines in the world to have a five star rating from Skytrax.

Kingfisher Fleet

Kingfisher Airlines fleet currently consists of 79 aircraft, including ATR 72 and Airbus A 320 Family aircrafts for domestic / short haul services and Airbus A 330 for International long haul services. Presently the airline's fleet comprises ATR 72 - 500 (27), ATR 42 - 500 (8), A 319 (3), A 320 (Single Cabin - 18), A 321 (Single Cabin - 2), A 321 (Dual Cabin - 6) and A 330 (5). For expanding its international services Kingfisher Airlines has ordered Airbus A330 - 200 and Airbus A340-500, deliveries are expected soon.

Kingfisher Airlines operates flights to all major domestic sectors of the country like Delhi to Mumbai, Mumbai to Goa, Kolkata to Delhi , Chennai to Delhi, Delhi to Bangalore and Hyderabad to Chennai.

Kingfisher History

On 9th May 2005, Kingfisher Airlines began operations, with four Airbus A320-200 aircraft on lease. On June 15, 2005, Kingfisher placed orders for the Airbus A 380, and eventually became the first Indian airline to order for the big aircraft. However, in July 2007, the airline started operations in domestic routes.

On December 19, 2007, Kingfisher Airlines decided to merge with Air Deccan. In April 2008, the merge came into effect and Air Deccan was renamed as Kingfisher Red. On 13th October 2008, Kingfisher Airlines chairman Vijay Mallya announced an alliance with Jet Airways, following a meeting with his counterpart Naresh Goyal.

Destinations

Kingfisher Airlines connects 44 domestic destinations and international destinations like London , Dubai and Colombo. Some of the important domestic destinations served by the airline are Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai, Kolkata, Bangalore , Hyderabad , Ahmedabad, Cochin, Pune, Lucknow and Varanasi .

In Flight Services

Currently Kingfisher Airlines offers two classes of service, namely Kingfisher First (Business class) and Kingfisher Class (economy class) in the domestic as well as international network. Passengers on board are provided complimentary snacks, juice, tea / coffee. For entertainment, there is a small television screen in-front of every passenger seat, where one can play his favourite channel and also listen to music by plugging in the headphone offered complimentary.
